Sovereignty

In trying to understand and grow in the Christian faith there is no better place to start than by investigating the sovereignty of God; a person’s faith **cannot **exceed their opinion of God’s sovereignty.

This is undoubtedly why God began and (almost) ended the Bible with his grandest shows of sovereignty:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. Revelation 21:1 - 2

It as if God is saying: “Have faith that I can and did create, and recreate, the heavens and earth and you can believe anything else you read here.”

Our faith, peace, worship, comfort … are the result of believing God is both good and sovereign – He controls everything and can do anything!
